The Igbo apex socio-cultural organisation, Ohanaeze Ndigbo, has said that Nigeria will be better if any of the Igbo candidates from the South-East and the South-South succeeds President Muhammadu Buhari in 2023.

In a press statement issued by its Secretary-General, Mazi Okechukwu Isiguzoro, the Igbo group stated that its members were very committed to Igbo aspirations for the presidency, adding that the next leadership of Ohanaeze Ndigbo would also be coming from Rivers State in 2025.

All Chrisland Schools To Reopen On Monday

All branches of Chrisland Schools in various parts of Lagos State are to reopen from Monday, April 25, authorities in the state have announced.

The Lagos State Ministry of Education made the announcement in a statement on Saturday, five days after it ordered the schools to close.

The government had ordered the closure of all branches of Chrisland Schools amid a controversy over the alleged misconduct of some of its pupils while on a trip to Dubai, the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

Gunmen Attack Police Station In Kogi

An unspecified number of gunmen on Friday night attacked a police station in Adavi Local Government Area, LGA of Kogi State, killing three of policemen in a gun battle.


I was gathered that the hoodlums launched an attack on the police station about midnight Friday.

Officers of the Police Quick Response Detachment promptly responded, injuring some of the attackers.

The Commissioner of Police in Lagos State, Abiodun Alabi, says the June 18 governorship elections in Ekiti State must be processed in accordance with the law.

Mr Alabi, an indigene of Ilawe-Ekiti gave the admonition Friday at a dinner organised in his honour by his kinsmen in the town.
