The Johannesburg Metropolitan Police Department (JMPD) IIOC Undercover officers have secured the successful arrest of eight suspects, after a truck was stopped and R1 million worth of stolen copper cables was found hidden at the back.
According to the Johannesburg Metropolitan Police Department News report, on Thursday, 22 April 2022 Johannesburg Metropolitan Police Department (JMPD) IIOC Undercover officers were alerted to be on the lookout for a truck which is suspected to be transporting stolen copper cables.
JMPD officers spotted the suspected truck and escort vehicle at Commissioner and John Paige Street in Jeppestown (Gauteng Province), both vehicles were stopped and searched, this led to them finding stolen copper cables which are estimated to be worth R1 million, the copper cables are believed to be belonging to Telkom.

A total of eight suspects were placed under arrest on a
charge for being in possession of stolen property, they will soon make
an appearance in court to face the charge.
