The world is a very dynamic place. This is because of the fact that different regions of the world have their own way of doing things. For instance, countries like Nigeria and the United States of America are divided into many states. It is important to point out that Nigeria has 36 states while the United States of America is divided into 50 states. However, it is necessary for us to know that there are some countries that have no states. Let us carefully identify some of them.

1. Gabon

This country is located in the west coast of central Africa. The official name of this country is the Gabonese Republic. Gabon is one of the major countries that do not have states. It should be said that Gabon is divided into nine provinces.  

2. Afghanistan

Afghanistan is the only Asian country on this list. It is important to point out that Afghanistan is governed as a unitary state. This is one of the main reasons why there are no states in Afghanistan. There are 34 provinces in Afghanistan.

3. Angola

Angola is the second African country on this list. It is necessary to note the fact that there are 18 provinces in Angola. However, Angola is also governed as a unitary state. This is why Angola does not have any state.
