Nigeria as a country got her independence on October 1st, 1960, and was divided into regions before being divided into states of which we now have 36 states and a federal capital territory.

2. Anambra State

 

Anambra State is a Nigerian state, located in the southeastern region of the country. According to the 2006 census report there are over 4.1 million residents in the state.

The major cities in the state where business thrives are mostly at Onitsha, Nnewi and Awka, the state capital.

3. Rivers State

Rivers State, also known as Rivers, is a state in the Niger Delta region of southern Nigeria.

Located in the South-south region of the country, Rivers is one of the oil producing states in Nigeria with many top oil and gas companies operating there. Also, the state’s GDP which stands at $21,073 billion makes her one of the richest states in the country.

The economy of Rivers State is dominated by the state's booming petroleum industry.

4. Abia State

Abia State is a state in the South-East geopolitical zone of Nigeria, bordered to the north and northeast by the states of Anambra, Enugu, and Ebonyi, Imo State to the west, Cross River State to the east, Akwa Ibom State to the southeast, and Rivers State to the south.

Abia state is also an oil producing state that has experienced a lot of benefits from the oil and gas sector which accounts for 36% of the state’s GDP.
