Africa, men are usually elected as Presidents or leaders of a nation. There are few female Presidents in the history of Africa. Many people think that females must also be given the chance to become leaders of a nation or in other words lead a group of people. In this article, I am going to share with you the story of a famous female Liberian politician who served as the President of Liberia for twelve good years. She was elected as the President of Liberia from 2006 to 2018. This means that she governed the nation (Liberia) for twelve years as said above.

This brave female politician is Ellen Johnson Sirleaf. She was born on 29 October 1938. Ellen Johnson Sirleaf was born in Monrovia. The school she attended was the college of West Africa which is a very popular preparatory school. She attended this school from 1948 to 1955. Other schools she attended were the Madison business college, the University of Colorado, Boulder, and Havard University.

Ellen Johnson Sirleaf was the first female president to be elected in Liberia and also in Africa. The former president married her handsome husband James Sirleaf when she was seventeen years old.

They are now blessed with four handsome sons. Ellen John Sirleaf traveled to the United States of America with her husband James Sirleaf to continue her education in 1961. However, the couple divorced in 1961 because of a certain issue.

Ellen Johnson Sirleaf grew up as a proud Presbyterian. She joined the Methodist church after marrying he husband James Sirleaf. Currently, Ellen Johnson Sirleaf who is a former President of Liberia has ten grandchildren through her brave sons. She became a member of the Alpha Kappa Alpha society while attending college in the United States of America. The story of this female politician is so lovely. Women can also be leaders of a nation.
